Organization Overview
Background
The South Sudan Nurses and Midwives Association (SSNAMA) was launched on May 4, 2011 at a workshop hosted by the Ministry of Health with technical and financial support from the United Nations Population Fund.
The association was formed as a result of the need to raise the profile of nursing and midwifery in South Sudan and strengthen the provision of nursing and midwifery services in the new Republic.
The association comprises of an Executive Board including representatives from all states of South Sudan and a representative of the midwifery society.
Message from the National Chairperson of the South Sudan Nurse and Midwives Association
Nursing and Midwifery continue to be an integral part of healthcare services delivery in the world. In a country like South Sudan where human resource for health is still among the lowest in the world, the work that nurses and midwives do is key in providing health care to the communities.
I would like report to members that we are on the right path to achieving our mission for delivering safe and high quality nursing and midwifery care through highly motivated nursing and midwifery workforce and achieving sustainable development goals.
I encourage members to remain steadfast and committed to the cause of the association. Always give us constructive feedback both negative and positive these will help us build a strong association.
